Small Spaces with Big Dreams of Organization
Ever feel like you're drowning in a sea of stuff, crying out for more space? π£οΈ
Well, I've heard that plea from countless clients, and guess what? It's not always about needing more space; sometimes, it's about needing less stuff! π‘β¨
Take my recent client, fresh from a house renovation. She had to stow away a bunch of belongings in storage during the process. When it was all said and done, she discovered she didn't even miss half of what was in that storage unit! Out it wentβ¦she told me she could finally breathe!
It's astonishing when you realize what's genuinely essential in your day-to-day life. Now, I'm not advocating for minimalism, but I've experienced firsthand the liberating feeling of a massive purge. πͺ£ποΈ
Flashback to our bathroom remodel two years ago β small space, big dreams of organization. Planned to the tee? Ha! Remodels never go as planned. So, when our vanity arrived, requiring some impromptu surgery for plumbing, my storage space got a lot smaller. What did I do? Purged and then purged some more!
Emptied the medicine cabinet, tossed expired items, and declutterized like a pro. After categorizing (get my free Bathroom Declutterize Checklist!), I kept only the daily essentials. And let's be real, I do my hair and makeup in the bedroom, saving even more bathroom space.
Now, behold the organized oasis
ποΈ 3 bins for His, Hers, and Travel (for our 'shower kits' and travel-size goodies).
π Lazy Susan holding TP, Advil, Aleve, and Tums.
π§Ό Hand soap dispenser and tissues on the vanity; everything else has its cozy spot.
This bathroom bliss makes my morning routine a breeze. Shower, grab the basket, teeth, skincare β done! No frantic searches, no bathroom battles with the hubby.
Efficiency at its finest!
So, next time you're in your bathroom, take a moment. What do you truly need for your morning routine, and how much time could you save if everything had its place? β°πΏβ¨
